Drums Set

An example or two for building your drum kit cheaply especially when you are first starting, you may have just a basic set. Probably a four piece drum set. It will consist of a bass drum, a snare drum and a couple of tom toms. Your tom toms will be different sizes, one mounted on the bass drum and one standing on its own legs known as a floor tom tom.

Once you have got used to playing this set up for a while you will want to expand on it. One of the first things that are added are either a high hat stand and matching 14" cymbals.

Buying a used drum set can be a lot of fun, but if you have never purchased a drum set before there are many things that you should be looking for that you might not be aware of.

First of all, make sure that you try the set out, play it, before purchasing it. Many cheaper sets of drums may look good, but after trying them out you'll see that they are not very good.
